Adult Group Music Therapy
Group Music Therapy sessions take place once a week in a confidential space lasting 45-60 minutes. Session time will be vary depending on groups needs. Typically weekly sessions will be timetabled in line with organisations working calendar.
Group music therapy sessions are designed to bring individuals together through music. The structured setting provides platform for personal development with the benefit of having support of group.
Group Music therapy may include: Active music making with a variety of instruments/singing, improvisation, song writing and lyric analysis, performance and discussion of songs, turn taking and sharing opportunities, movement to music and other musical activities.

Following this we can meet for an introductory appointment where we can discuss in more depth why you might like to access group music therapy services for your organisation and client group. This appointment can also be used as an opportunity to meet with service users, and begin referral process and initial assessments.

It is important to note that for each group the goals and focus of group will differ. For example when working in Elderly dementia care there will be a focus on memory recall, sharing and valuing life stories as well as supporting those in coming to terms with diagnosis.

Location
Session will take place on site with service users, or at organisations alternate facilities. It is important that sessions take place in a safe and uninterrupted private space each week, which is consistently available. Some musical resources are also essential for clients to take part. If you have any questions or need further support here I can assist in scoping and sourcing instruments. I will also be able to provide some musical resources, but may not be able to provide all.
Cost Per Session
Session fee is dependant on group size and duration. Session fees start at £100 for 30 minute session for group of 3.
